First Stabbing of 2012 in Santa Cruz

Santa Cruz Sentinel is reporting a stabbing on the Levee.  Officers responding to a call of a man down near the Santa Cruz river levee Sunday morning discovered a bloodied man suffering from a stab wound to the palm of his right hand. This is the first stabbing of 2012.

Man found at 6 a.m. near Front Street and Soquel Avenue.

The 46-year-old transient was stabbed in the hand.

Officers checked the area and believe the stabbing occurred on the west side of the levee near the Soquel Avenue bridge.

The man was taken to Dominican Hospital.

Suspect is a white man in his 30s who is about 5 feet, 10 inches tall and weighs about 140 pounds.
